Leaster gets an NGO Lifeline

KUALA LUMPUR: Diagnosed with a heart condition just three months after birth, the future of six-year-old Leaster Manor looked bleak.

His parents, Dominic Manor, 39, a service supervisor and Lorena Dezuman, 38, from Sandakan, were willing to try anything and spent the next few years visiting the best hospitals in the country.
The answer they got was the same – Leaster’s condition was too complex. And none of the hospitals wanted to perform surgery.

“Finally, when we took our son to the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur, doctors there told us that Leaster was suffering from complex cyanotic congenital heart disease.

“They told us that the condition was very complex and our son only had a very slim chance and doctors were not in favour of surgery, ” Lorena Dezuman
